Ah, football... synonymous with chili, especially during the playoffs. Too bad the Packers couldn't pull it off though. Atleast we still have the Pats (and fictional BF Tom Brady) to look forward to in 2 weeks. I do like Eli Manning though and I'm glad that he's going to the Superbowl; I just didn't want him to beat Favre to get there :(
Anyway, it was about 15 degrees here so I definitely wanted something comforting for dinner, but I didn't really feel like cooking either. Something in the crock pot perhaps? Of course, football = chili! My chili is a really basic/semi-homemade recipe but my husband and I love it so that's all that matters!
Chili

Ingredients
1 1/5 lbs hamburger
1 can petite diced tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce
1 med. Can brooks chili beans
1 15oz can brooks chili beans
1 teaspoon – ½ tablespoon chopped jalapeno
¼ chopped onion
1 ½ tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
Directions
- Brown & drain hamburger
- combine all ingredients in dutch oven or slow cooker
- cook on low for several hours - (I do 4 usually)
